What a Konjac sponge is – and why it’s going to change your skin!
These unique sponges are derived from the root of the Konjac Plant, which is native to many Asian countries. Combining calcium hydroxide and charcoal with the dried ground powder of the Konjac plant creates a very clever little sponge that:

✔️Delivers an array of nourishing vitamins (A,B,C,D,E) as well as antioxidants, protein, copper, magnesium, iron, zinc.

So what does all this mean for your skin?

Let’s talk about the texture!
The first and most unique aspect of the sponge that you will discover is it’s quirky texture; like a combination of squishy rubber and jelly. Texturally much finer then a normal washcloth, and much softer than a traditional loofah or sea sponge.
It is actually rather addictive, and a BIG hit with children as well, which makes it a great little tool for those littlies that detest bath time.
Its unique texture gives it the ability to completely remove all oils and contaminants (even the strongest of waterproof sunscreen and makeup is no match for this little trooper!)
The consistency of the sponge means it is very fast drying, preventing the growth of bacteria and germs normally associated with cleansing sponges.
Using the sponge is a bit different to how you would use a washcloth or a loofah. Before use, it’s important to soak / drench it very thoroughly in warm water, watch it grow and soften in your hand. Squeeze out excess water and apply a small amount of our Green Tea Cleanser. Washing your face using this sponge will help you use less of your cleanser (Yay! Save money!)
Using circular motions rub all over your face, concentrating on your T Zone and any areas that are particularly dry or oily.
*Pro Tip*. If you are having a shower, then cleanse your face last. A couple of minutes spent standing in the hot steamy shower will soften the skin and open up the pores making cleansing even more effective
Once finished, rinse and gently squeeze out water, leave it to dry on a rack or hang it on a door knob.
What is the shelf-life?
Generally, I would say that they sponge has a shelf life of 8 weeks after which time it’s probably best to replace with a fresh sponge that is brimming with all the natural vitamins and minerals waiting to breathe new life into your skin.
